Congratulations Karl

Last December 2, the Department of Agriculture-Agricultural Training Institute held the “Binhi ng Pag-asa Provincial Summit”. Aside from the talks, conferences and exhibits there was an Agri Quiz Bee competition. The Dagatan Family Farm School was invited to represent Lipa City.

With no time to prepare, no coaching and no review, only grit and guts led Karl up the stage to compete. Karl Emjae Cañubas entered the contest armed only with his stock knowledge and experience in agriculture. Karl was joined by 19 other competitors. Karl was the only Senior High School student among college level contestants.

Karl finished 7th overall.

In Dagatan Family Farm School (http://dagatanffs.org/) the students learn by doing. Located in a 1.324hectare land in Barangay Dagatan, Lipa City, the students get to apply what they learn in the farm surrounding the campus. Experience being the best teacher, it was Karl’s hands on application of his classroom learning that sharpened his skill that bested 12 other agriculture college students.

Karl will be honored for his achievement on December 12, at the flag raising ceremonies at Lipa City Hall.

Karl and the other students in DFFS are in need of support or educational assistance. For information on how to help kindly message Jeremy Feria on the following touchpoints: Facebook Messenger https://www.facebook.com/jeremy.feria/, Website: http://dagatanffs.org/ and cellphone 0991-216-6553
