Organizing School’s Publishing House

Being an Editor-in-Chief of Dagatan Family Farm School’s Publishing Org is both uneasy but earnestly responsibility. Being part of it is something that makes you proud of. You’ll be even prouder when your work is done. You become sociable and analytic whenever you gather information or write-ups for the article to be published. The org is composed of students who eagerly shared information, gather special moments of social issues, and even capturing stories of students who become the main subject of the different topics or lead of every page of the publishing. Being with them is fun because it is more like a family- a family who cares for each other, and helps one another. Having this responsibility, you gain more knowledge not just about what’s in your mind, but also in your heart. It widens your perspective about certain issues in which you couldn’t imagine that you can accomplish it. To be with them seems more like a bonding because of camaraderie and rapport we build while accomplishing our task.

But that publishing org is more than this. It is established for a specific goal which is to showcase the talents, creativity, communication skills, awareness, or consciousness of DFFS students to every issue that they encounter in their everyday life. Moreover, it enhances students’ deep understanding regarding certain causes such as bullying, depression, the negative and positive impact of technology on their studies. It seems very ideal but this is what I perceived while working with the students and reaching this goal.

Honestly speaking, I can say that it is exhausting but worth doing for the sake of my team who are the students of DFFS. They are participative sharing their thoughts, insights, and perspective towards topics which are their inspiration to continue to grasp for relevant, unbiased, and informative write-ups for the publishing org. Through this, I want to end it up with a grateful smile, pride, and joy for having them as their editor in chief.
