Groundbreaking Ceremony Vertical Garden and Edible Landscape Project

Dagatan Family Farm School (DFFS) and JCI Lipa officially had a groundbreaking ceremony for the Vertical Garden and Edible Landscape project at DFFS compound, Dagatan Lipa City, Batangas. DFFS Director Randy B. Pesa, together with JCI Lipa President Caroline Jicelle Katigbak, JCI Lipa Senate President Atty. Mark Manalo and Architect Carlo Armando Reyes, led the groundbreaking last June 8, 2021.
Mr. Pesa, in his message, warmly greeted, welcomed, and thanked the JCI Lipa officials and members for the support promised to the school. He also mentioned the plans for Senior High School and TESDA courses.
In her speech, the JCI Lipa President, Ms. Katigbak, was grateful and cheerfully shared about their projects “Agri Tayo Dine” which aims to support the agricultural sector, uplift farmers, inspire and support students, and provide healthy products to the community. She said that donation/construction of vertical garden will serve as a training site for the students and serve as a module for TESDA course participants. She added, “in the future I will be very happy and fulfilled meeting at least one graduate, being Agri-technician”.
As part of the program, JCI Lipa provided organic foliar fertilizers to 10 chosen farmers that will help increase their farm produce. The farmers officially became a member/distributor of EUPAMARKETING. This is an opportunity for them to have another source of income by selling products or through referrals.
This event also serves as a venue to meet new partners and collaborators. The EUPAMARKETING owner, Pamela Dimayuga was impressed by the DFFS system and mission and personally commits to supply organic foliar fertilizer to the DFFS community garden project.
Architect Carlo Armando Reyes, Junior JCI Lipa Chairman, concluded that the program citing in his closing remarks the importance of inspiring other people to set up the project to inspire more students.

Pesa, DFFS SHS Principal Alberto Maramot, DFFS JHS Principal Bien Malaluan, Mr. Jeremy Feria, DFFS tutors/staff and farmer-beneficiaries: Gina Gadgode, Marissa Solomon, Minnette Magpantay, Rafael Jude Villa, Maria Teresa Maramot, Randy Pesa, Gibert De Belen, and Virone Martillano.
