Pastoral Visit of Archbishop Gilbert Garcera

Last November 25, 2019, our beloved Archbishop Gilbert Garcera and his associates visited our school Dagatan Family Farm School (DFFS).
It was his first visit and we considered that as a historic event.

We prepared for his great visit. We made yell, flags, and decorated the stage with lanterns and tarpaulin to show our overwhelming welcome to him. He gave talks which we gained a lot of learnings about him and his role as our archbishop. According to him, for us to avoid the evil deeds and actions, we must know the acronym ICE which means Indifference, lack of Concern, and making Enemy.

Why indifference? Why lack of concern? Why making enemies (ICE)?

Through the explanation of Archbishop, we, as Dagatan Family Farm School Community, we learned, that we need to be more concern to others and don’t create an enemy to others to avoid evil and to become a good people.

We were very delighted on his visit because it served as our reflection to be more grateful to our beloved God the Father for every blessing he has given us. Moreover, Archbishop Gilbert reminded us that to be skillful and intelligent is fine but it should be combined with faith so that our attitude will never be affected by the success or triumph we may achieve as we go along in our journey.

Truly it was one of a kind experience to talk and meet such a person with wisdom that enlightens us about faith and life. And this won’t be possible without the help of Fr. Eugene who sincerely invited and brought Archbishop Gilbert to our school. Thank you, Archbishop!
